SIL-University for Organizations

If you are an organization looking for premium soybean training support for your team, you have come to the right place.

SIL-University for Organizations is a free project supporting private and public organizations that seek to improve their teams’ knowledge through specialized online course packages.

Brief introduction about SIL-University.

SIL-University, or SIL-U, is a completely free online training platform for Soybean Innovation Lab programs and technologies. It was founded in 2019 to provide a pool of technical knowledge focused on agronomic practices for extension agents in sub-Saharan Africa and all those interested in the soybean agronomy sector worldwide.
Today, SIL-U has expanded to cover additional soybean topics, such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM), pesticide safety, best practices when operating a Pan-African Soybean Variety Trial, reading and interpreting pesticide labels, backpack sprayer calibration, mycotoxin control, using soy-based products to enhance nutrition, creating a safe and productive environment when operating threshers and tractors, and more.
SIL-U is present in more than 120 countries and has issued thousands of certificates worldwide.

With our great success serving individuals, we decided to create a project geared specifically toward organizations. We are cooperating with organizations to standardize the training for entire teams in a practical way and without investment costs, making it possible to adopt effective practices and technologies for increased soybean productivity.

How the program works:

Follow the steps below to understand how the program works and the order of each step.
At the bottom of the page, we have contact details for registering your organization.

1 - Choosing courses

The organization chooses the courses it deems appropriate
for its team. If desired, our team can guide this phase.

2 - Defining the time window

We define a start and end date for the training program and the proper date for implementation.

3 - List of students

The organization provides us with the list of names and emails of all team members to be trained and appoints a supervisor.

4 - Announcing the start of the window

SIL-U triggers a mass dissemination of the training program to team members, including the information and rules, the chosen courses, and a link to a study group. We also appoint a technical manager to answer questions.

5 - Progress reports

During the previously stipulated study window, SIL-U sends weekly progress reports to the organization's supervisor. In order to create a healthy competitive environment, we can also share these reports with the entire group.

6 - Certificates

Students who complete each course with the stipulated minimum score will receive personalized certificates with their name, completion date, laboratory seal, and director's signature.

7 - End of the window

At the end of the learning program window, if 100% of the students have obtained the certificates, the company can request an annual corporate certificate of online training standardization from the Soybean Innovation Lab.

I have taken several courses offered by the soybean innovation lab. These are helpful courses which really provide the required information for use in real time. The Soybean Innovation lab is my rescue team for the reason that whenever I take a course, I find something that I just need to learn. I love its support to all who need it, especially because the courses are also free. I have always shared the links with my friends and work mates so that they can also benefit from this valuable information.

The IPM course has really changed my life. It has made me a recognized person in my community. My former colleagues come to me for advice on integrated pest management on cashew and shea. I know this will also enhance my CV.
I am very grateful to the course instructors.

It really helped and opened my eyes especially where sprayer calibration is concerned. I also learnt about the effective way of using pesticides in the most appropriate manner and minimizing losses.
